Title: Automation Engineer (Ansible & Python)

Duration: 6-12 Months

Location: Hybrid in Jersey City, NJ

As an Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions to streamline our infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand automation requirements and implement effective solutions. Your expertise in Ansible and Python will be essential in driving our automation initiatives forward. Experience with Nautobot is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities:

• Intent-Based Automation: Develop and implement intent-based automation solutions to ensure consistency and reliability in our infrastructure.
  
• Source of Truth & Data Models: Utilize source of truth and data models to maintain accurate and up-to-date information for automation processes.
  
• Schema Validation: Implement schema validation to ensure data integrity and compliance with defined standards.
  
• Network Development Exposure: Leverage your network development experience to enhance automation capabilities.
  
• Python/Ansible Network Development: Utilize your expertise in Python and Ansible to develop robust network automation solutions.
  
• Ansible Playbooks & Modules: Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployments.
  
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand automation requirements and implement effective solutions.
  
• Leadership & Direction: Provide direction and guidance to junior team members and ensure the successful application of Ansible in the environment.
  
• Ansible Tower/Automation Hub: Configure and manage Ansible Tower/Automation Hub for centralized orchestration, workflow management, and job scheduling.
  
• CI/CD Integration: Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate Ansible automation into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  
• Workflow Optimization: Work closely with system administrators and operations teams to identify areas for automation and streamline workflows.
  
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior team members on Ansible best practices, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  
• Security & Scalability: Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of Ansible automation infrastructure.
  
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyse system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary optimizations.
  
• Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to Ansible and automation frameworks.
