Job Description

COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Objective:

We are looking for a small project ($50k to 1.5M) superintendent to oversee staff and sub-contractors, manage all on site activities, and provide quality control to complete the project per plans and specifications in a safe, clean, and organized manor, on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Study the drawings and communicate with subcontractors to maintain a good working knowledge of each trade’s responsibility and how that ties into the overall project and schedule.
  • Scheduling of self-performed labor and purchase of required material.
  • Basic carpentry tools are required, all other tools provided by Roper.
  • Exemplary Communication Skills are Required:
  • Always be available and strive to return missed calls promptly.
  • Presents themselves well to owners by making themselves available, being courteous and respectful.
  • Clear communication with subcontractors on schedule and make notifications two weeks minimum before they are required on the project site.
  • Complete Two Week Look Aheads and schedule updates on a weekly basis and distribute.
  • Constant communication with Project Manager about the project and requests for information.
  • Create punch lists at completion of the project and distribute. Mandatory Construction Knowledge:
  • How to read project schedules and blue prints, including architectural, civil, structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection.
  • The order of operations on a project site.
  • Regularly completed self-perform tasks is required and expected. Training will be given on these tasks upon request.

Safety Expectations:

  • Lead by example even more so when it comes to safety.
  • A working knowledge of good safety practices and requirements for Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory.
  • Study and understand the Roper Construction Co. Safety Program.
  • Fill out the provided jobsite safety checklist form on each project once a week at a minimum.
  • A clean, organized, project site must be maintained for safety, workability, and as a good presentation to our customers.
