Job Description

Our client is seeking a strategic and agile Director of Communications to join their team. Reporting directly to the COO, this role will be pivotal in managing their communications strategy, enhancing brand presence, and serving as the key contact with the external marketing agency. With a strong background in business communications and public relations within the tech, engineering, or energy sector, the Director will drive both internal and external messaging efforts, ensuring alignment with the company's values and vision. This role requires someone with excellent writing skills, proven experience handling press interactions, and a successful track record in crafting and disseminating strategic content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communication strategies that align with corporate goals and effectively engage external stakeholders, the media, and the public.  
  • Act as the primary liaison with our marketing agency to ensure seamless communication and project execution.  
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets, coordinate press releases, and manage company interactions with the press.  
  • Collaborate on internal messaging to maintain consistent communication with team members and reinforce brand alignment.  
  • Oversee the development of high-quality written content, including press releases, public statements, and corporate reports.  
  • Support the company’s overall branding efforts through strategic storytelling and consistent messaging.  
  • Work with other teams to align communication strategies with broader company objectives.

Requirements

Requirements  

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in communications roles, ideally within the tech, engineering, or the energy sector.  
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Proven experience with press releases, media relations, and strategic content creation.  
  • Demonstrated agility in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  
  • Exposure to and experience with managing public relations for businesses of scale.  
  • Experience working in or managing communications within a public traded company.
