Finance Manager

Large Insurance Client

Location: Charlotte, NC - onsite as needed

Duration: 6+ months - contract to hire - this role will convert

$55-65 an hour depending on skill level

Must Have Requirements:

  1. Financial Analysis and Financial Management experience
  2. Excel: 8 out of 10 skill, needs to be able to do pivot tables, v-lookups, h-lookups quickly
  3. Vendor/Supplier Management
  4. Strong Communication

Day to Day Responsibilities/Project specifics:

In this role you will studying actuals that are coming in every month, analyzing why and where the company is spending their money and reviewing if there are places where they can save money. You will need to do some of their own reports, pulling spreadsheets together. Pushing forward on the direction on how they can operate. Supplier/Vendor management, understanding what the contracts are, what they are paying, what they are getting out of the vendors for what they are paying. Strong excel skills to move quick.

Job Summary: The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company’s growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets. Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company’s financial stability. Optimize working capital and manage liquidity.
  • Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost control measures. Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Risk Management: Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure adequate insurance coverage and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with vendors and suppliers. Negotiate contracts and ensure timely payments.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions. Provide financial information and support to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
