Inventory and Receiving Manager

About the Role:  

The Inventory and Receiving Manager is the leader of Velvet's inventory and receiving team. This individual has a passion for leading and developing teams and improving store operations. The Inventory and Receiving Manager is solution oriented, supportive, and continuously driving maximum efficiency within store operations. Reporting to the General Manager, the Inventory and Receiving Manager will embody Velvet's company values and ensure the team adheres to company policies and works with the GM to solve challenging operational situations.

 

Inventory and Receiving Manager Responsibilities:

Compliance and Execution

  • Accurately receive incoming orders into METRC and POS systems in a timely manner
  • Facilitate and direct the execution of all product labeling  
  • Ensure Velvet's METRC compliance at all times
  • Ongoing update of our menu on Dutchie 
  • Ongoing updates of menu on Leafly
  • Ongoing updates of our menu on WeedMaps in-stocks and inventory management
  • Works with retail leadership team to make sure we prioritize products so they are always available on the sales floor
  • Oversees and guides the inventory and receiving team to make sure we have location accuracy for stored and ready to sell products
  • Manages inventory discrepancies and ensures accurate quantities between physical count, point of sale (Treez) and METRC quantities.
  • Oversees and conducts weekly, monthly, and annual inventory audits
  • Executes returns, defects, and waste returns to GAICA
 

Inventory Team Staffing and Development

  • Manages inventory and receiving team staffing levels based on business needs
  • Guides and directs all training within the inventory and receiving department
  • Conducts bi-weekly check ins with all team members to ensure consistent feedback and coaching of performance
  • Works with the GM to create documentation and deliver performance reviews to all inventory and receiving team members
 

Revenue Growth and Attainment

  • Works to make sure the product is available for the store to consistently meet its revenue goals
  • Identifies products and categories that contribute to ongoing month over month growth
  • Forecasts inventory needs to work with retail leadership and ensure the store is equipped to beat comparison sales goals
 

Average Ticket

  • Delivers the available to sell products that allow the retail store to meet its monthly revenue goals
  • Works with retail leadership team to ensure we have the right products in stock to consistently grow sales, transactions, units and overall revenue

Inventory and Receiving Manager Requirements:

  • Previous senior leadership experience in a fast paced retail environment preferred
  • Inventory and receiving experience preferred (ideally in the cannabis industry)
  • A passion for outstanding customer service and team mentoring
  • Self motivated and desire to constantly grow and develop
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills  
  • Drive to go above and beyond for your customers and team
  • Able to adjust and adapt to changing cannabis laws, requirements, and procedures
  • Available to work weekends
  • Available to work 40+ hours a week
  • Ability to lift 50lbs +
