Description:

Full-time. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the conducting general maintenance and repairs at Cooper Fitness Center. Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings, equipment and grounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Schedule: Sunday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m, Monday - Thursday, 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Training: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. (2 weeks)

Maintenance Technician Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance around the buildings such as fixing structural issues, or damage, for example, minor window, door, or wall repair.
  • Conducts minor maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and replace circuit breakers, etc.)
  • Repairs broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
  • Works with other departments as requested, including moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
  • Helps with special programs and events.
  • Confers with management to resolve maintenance problems.
  • Responds quickly in the event of an emergency (including after hours),notified appropriate personnel and follows safety protocols.
  • Maintains HVAC and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
  • Maintains OSHA compliance standards and enforces safety regulations to avoid injuries.
  • Utilizes daily check list to review maintenance needs.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and adheres to the Cooper purpose and core values.
  • Completes duties on site with consistent, regular, and reliable attendance.
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

The ideal Maintenance Technician candidate will possess:

  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems .
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including lawn mowers, small hand tools, leaf blowers and power washers.
  • Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two years of experience and/or training in maintenance technology.
  • Certificate in building maintenance technology or relevant field is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, twisting, and/or walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into and work in small confined, awkward spaces.
  • Must be able to work in the work environment described below.
