Part Time Medical Assistant 

Mount Sinai Wellness Center Nursing department is growing and searching for a motivated, compassionate individual to add to our team! We are a dual diagnosis facility that provides detox and residential treatment to clients with substance abuse and mental health disorders. 

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the nurses with vital signs, answering the phone, acquiring Prior Authorizations for medications, and finding out what pharmacy a patient needs to utilize according to their insurance.
• Assisting in getting patients into the nurse’s stations for assessment by the nurses. 
• Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.  
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.  
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.  
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.  
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications  
• Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.  

Qualifications:  

• High School Diploma
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Experience working with insurance companies.
• Prioritizing skills, and professionalism. 
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.
