Job Description

About Pearson Packaging System

Grow alongside Pearson, as we disrupt the packaging industry with innovative ways of solving our customers’ automation needs. Challenge the status quo, apply new ways of thinking and help us dominate the secondary packaging automation market.

With our portfolio of case erectors, robotic top-loaders, sealers and robotic palletizers, Pearson Packaging Systems helps a diverse set of high-volume manufacturers and distributors in the food, beverage, personal care, household and industrial chemical, pharma and distribution industries overcome labor cost and supply, safety, quality and throughput challenges. Since our inception, nearly 70 years ago we have deployed over 23,000 machines.

To be able to deliver on our promise to our customers, maintain our values of integrity, service, and continuous improvement, and sustain growth rates above industry expectations, we look for people who care – care to make a difference and go the extra mile to exceed customer expectations, both internally and externally.

Your role with us:

As a Senior Project Manager for Pearson Packaging Systems, you will manage the overall success of high-level projects by ensuring that core machinery, custom machinery, and aftermarket sales are delivered and commissioned on-time, within scope, and within budget throughout the lifecycle of the project achieving customer satisfaction.

Does this sound like you?

  • You have advanced planning and execution skills. You can clearly outline project objectives, deliverables and requirements to create an unambiguous scope of work agreed to by the customer for the organization to execute on. You are able to manage the project and internal resources effectively to ensure it is delivered and commissioned on time, within scope and within budget.
  • You are a strong communicator. Planning and execution skills? Check. But can you also professionally and effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders to make sure their needs and expectations are met? Does your delivery ensure customers feel informed and confident in Pearson’s ability to deliver their project? Are you able to coach and motivate project team members and third party vendors to influence them to take proactive action and accountability for their work? Strong communication skills are critical to this role.
  • You work well under pressure. Aggressive project delivery schedules motivate you. You can effectively identify and coordinate the correct team members to solve the problem at hand and will do whatever it takes to complete a project on time while delivering a quality product.
  • You can navigate through change. You see change as an opportunity to improve rather than an obstacle to overcome. You can modify solutions to quickly adapt to customer requests. You are able to proactively identify and resolve issues and manage changes in scope, schedule and cost to ensure successful completion of the project.

How you will contribute to our growth:

  • By working with our internal and external stakeholders to successfully navigate the machine build and installation process from project review through commissioning, managing resources and identifying risks along the way. The status reports and updates you provide instill confidence in our customers and promote ownership and engagement in project success with our internal team members.
  • Through your ability to build and maintain positive relationship with customers, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner. Fostering trust and satisfaction with the company’s products and services.
  • Through your leadership and problem-solving abilities that allow you to give the individual time and attention needed to all projects and customers while effectively balancing your project load.
  • With your innate capability to create order out of chaos in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, fluid environment with ever changing priorities. Your excellent organizational skills allow you to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities simultaneously.

What you will need to succeed:

  • B.A. in Business Administration or other related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management (in a manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Working knowledge of project methodologies. PMP certification and/or ongoing PMP education is a plus.
